Shilima is located in the Kwimba District 55 km from the paved road. It is large village with 2,571 households that obtain water from a hand-dug dam that collects rain and run-off, and a hand-dug well that is located approximately 4 km from the village. The water in this dam is dirty. Although it is not fit for human consumption, many drink the water, because the hand-dug well does not produce sufficient water to support the families in Shililma.
Shilima is one of CT’s priority villages. Perhaps you can partner with us to drill a deep borehole well to bring clean water to the 1,200 primary school students, their families, its 106 widows, and 80 orphan children.
