Salama Village

Salama is located in the Magu District, with a population of 2,283.  Its current water sources are three shallow wells ranging from 6 to 11 meters.  Two of the wells are dry due to drought.  The third well is marginal.  Because of overconsumption, the village has a schedule that limits households to one bucket of water per day.  Most years, families can obtain water from the Duma River which is 3-4 km away from the village, but this year even the Duma River is dry.

Salama is one of CT’s priority villages. Perhaps you can partner with us to provide clean water for the 700 primary school children, their families, its 40 widows and 18 orphan children.
